Events

There’s always something happening in the Hawk community!

Meet the Teacher

Meet the Teacher is held the week before school starts. Students and their families are invited to campus to find their classrooms, meet their teachers, complete important paperwork for the school year, and drop off school supplies.

Curriculum Night + Open PTO Meeting

Typically held during the second week of school, parents and caregivers are invited to a presentation by their student’s teacher covering the curriculum and expectations for the school year. Presentations are available in multiple sessions to accommodate parents with more than one student.

This is also the first open PTO Meeting of the year. All parents are invited to attend.

Spirit Nights

Spirit Nights are arranged by the PTO at various restaurants in the surrounding area. Take your family to eat at these establishments on the designated date and timeframe, mention HTA, and we’ll receive a portion of the proceeds for our programming goals.

Book Fair

HTA partners with Scholastic to host Book Fairs twice a year in the Library. Students and parents are invited to shop at the fair for one week in the fall and spring. Books may be purchased using cash, card, or Scholastic account balance. Parents may shop with their students before and after school. Students are also invited to shop with their class during their assigned time. Information will be sent home with your student before the sale.

Picture Days

Picture Days occur twice a year and are conducted by Lifetouch. In the fall, photos are taken for the yearbook and retakes are available. The spring picture day features seasonal settings. Students do not have to wear their school uniform for Picture Days but outfits must be school-appropriate.

Jingle Jog

Occurring in early December, parents are invited to campus to participate in a holiday jog during students’ PE time. Sneakers and fun holiday wear are encouraged!

Student Performances

Student performances occur at various times of the year based on grade level. Unless otherwise noted, performances take place in the Gym. Performances are announced in communications home from teachers and the weekly HTA newsletter.

On-Campus PTO-Hosted Events

Parents are invited to join their students for events hosted on campus. In November and February, join us for an evening of dancing, food vendors, and a photo booth. And you won’t want to miss our annual Donuts with Grownups in late April/early May.

Night of Excellence

Scheduled in May, families are invited to campus to see the amazing work their students completed throughout the school year. Students work hard to complete projects, decorate their classrooms, and prepare to talk about their schoolwork. Orchestra and recorder performances take place this evening as well. This is an exciting night for our community!

Clubs & Activities

HTA offers opportunities for students to get involved in on-campus clubs and activities based on grade level. Learn more by expanding the sections below.

  • HTA Student Council is involved in a number of community service and fund-raising projects throughout the year.  Student Council is made up of elected representatives from grades four through six and classroom representatives from grades 3-6.   HTA Student Council meets on a regular basis; the dates and times of meetings will be determined once the council is established.

  • Band and orchestra is provided to interested students starting in the 5th grade.

  • HYSL is to extend educational opportunities through athletic competition and competitive performance. These six week-long sessions will promote citizenship, sportsmanship, a healthy lifestyle, and positive life skills in our student athletes. Learn more about HYSL at Husd.ce.eleyo.com

  • Enrichment Programs are hosted by HTA teachers to bring additional learning and growth opportunities covering special interests. These programs are held before or after school and often require an enrollment fee. Learn more at Husd.ce.eleyo.com
